Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Heretic Chess ("the App").

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Description of Service

The App is a single-player chess roguelite game for iOS. It is free to download and play. Optional consumable in-app purchases are available but not required to progress or complete the game.

In-App Purchases

The App offers optional consumable in-app purchases ("premium cards"). By purchasing a premium card:

  • You receive one copy of the card, added to your current save slot on the current device
  • Premium cards are consumable and tied to the save slot in which they are used
  • Deleting a save slot permanently removes all cards (including premium cards) on that slot
  • Uninstalling the App deletes all local data, including premium cards
  • Premium cards cannot be restored, transferred, or refunded after use

These terms are clearly presented before each purchase within the App. All transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store.

Permitted Use

You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
  • Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the App
  • Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose

Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, graphics, code, and game mechanics, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal purposes.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific expectations.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including loss of game progress or purchased items due to device failure, app deletion, or save slot deletion.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective when posted. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by deleting it from your device. We may discontinue the App at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

Apple App Store

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, you acknowledge that these Terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the App. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
